Olivia Valentine – founded by seasoned artists Phil Korosec and Geoff Hrabar – has emerged, like a swamp thing, as a musical force, with a sound that is driven by layered guitars, lush string arrangements, and accessible vocal melodies.

Korosec and Hrabar founded Olivia Valentine as a duo in 2017, primarily as a recording project. But as the project began to come alive, they decided to expand their lineup, which now includes Thomas Dietzel (guitar, backing vocals, keys, trombone, percussion), Larissa Dietzel (bass), and Daniel Bishop (drums, percussion). Olivia Valentine’s sound gives a tip of the hat to the Baroque-pop world (think Broken Social Scene), and is heavily influenced by bands like Radiohead, The Flaming Lips, and Sonic Youth.

In 2023, Olivia Valentine released their debut album, Reverberations, which elegantly showcases the band’s refreshing blend of Indie-Rock and Pop. Reverberations features Greg Wiz on drums. Wiz is known for his work with Norah Jones, The Autumn Defense, and Valerie June.

Olivia Valentine’s forthcoming album, The Couch Cushion EP, is set for release this fall.
